Basic Function:

  Kent State Salem Campus seeks (2) qualified adjunct instructors for the Radiologic Technology Program.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

  • Provides didactic and/or clinical instruction for radiologic technology students. 
  • Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts.
  • Prepare and deliver learning activities to achieve course outcomes.
  • Creates a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active and collaborative learning, student effort, academic challenge, student and faculty interaction, and support for learners to achieve course outcomes
  • Evaluate and grade students’ class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations.
  • Maintain and submit student grades and other required documentation by specified deadlines.
  • Periodic meetings with program faculty relative to teaching and program duties, training, and development.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Is proficient in supervision, instruction, and evaluation of radiologic technology students.
  • Documents two years’ clinical experience in radiologic technology.
  • Holds current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration in radiography.
  • Associate degree required.
  • Experience with technology including (but not limited to) Microsoft Office programs (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and willingness to learn and use additional software platforms.
  • The successful candidate should have very good verbal and written communication skills with an ability to relate to undergraduate students.

Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Current ODH radiography license
  • Knowledgeable in the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accreditation standards.
  • Demonstrated evidence of professional growth.
  • Experience with teaching technologies (learning management systems, web-conferencing software, student engagement software)

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

 

Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Position requires consistent communication with others. Position may require travel off campus to affiliated clinical settings.

Working Schedule:

 TBA, one to two days per week of didactic and/or clinical instruction during summer semesters May 20 – August 4, 2024.
