Job Title:

Admissions Visit Coordinator

Salary:

 $42,357 - $46,926

Basic Function:

Responsible for representing Kent State University to prospective students, their families, and school/community contacts. This position assists in the development of on-campus, off-campus, and virtual programs and activities designed to meet the needs of prospective students, families, guidance counselors, and campus partners.  Reports to Associate Director of Admissions or designated administrator.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Assist in the development and implementation of on-campus, off-campus, and online recruitment programs and events for undergraduate and/or graduate students.

Represent the University to various internal and external constituents (e.g. prospective students, parents, guidance counselors, alumni, faculty, staff, administrative personnel); disseminate information regarding the University.

Provide admissions information sessions at the Kent State Tour Center to support guest check in and tour guide management.

Perform work on various special projects and assignments, including, but not limited to, admission publications, customer relationship management (CRM) software, communications, reporting, functions of application processing, and admission file review.

Travel for recruitment and related events as needed.

Serve as the Counselor on duty on a rotating basis responsible for taking and following up on incoming calls from prospective students, parents, and college counselors.

May supervise students and/or provide functional guidance of Admissions Counselors, support staff or other employees who work on a project or assignment on a temporary or intermittent basis.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and two years related experience.

License/Certification:

Not applicable. 

Knowledge Of:

Standard university recruiting and admissions practices 
Sales and/or territory management techniques
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

Skill In:

Verbal, written, and interpersonal communications; public speaking *
Personal computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite

Ability To:

Work in a collaborative and effective manner with students, alumni, diverse families, administrators, and faculty
Work and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
Manage a complicated daily, weekly, and monthly schedule with recurring important professional commitments on and off-campus
Travel regionally and/or nationally *
Work nontraditional hours, including evenings and weekends *

Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:

Experience in student recruitment, education advocacy, or college counseling
Detail-oriented with strong oral and written communication skills
Experience within an institution of higher education
Knowledge of university-specific CRM systems; preferably Slate

Working Schedule:

 Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm, evenings and weekends when needed
