Basic Function:
Responsible for basic ongoing administration and support of software and applications in a less complex production environment. Works closely with clients, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Reports to Designated Administrator.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Responsible for functional analysis, developing functional specifications, requirements definition, data mapping, function mapping, setting of configuration tables, setting of transaction/control tables, module configuration, prototyping and testing for less complex software applications.
Involved in security/authorization set-up, user documentation, data interface design, data migration and reconciliation.
JOB COMPETENCIES:
Administer, document, monitor and/or modify a single less complex software application or less complex related tools and interfaces.
Administer, document, monitor and/or modify a single less complex software application based on system life-cycle standards and IS Architectural and Security protocols.
Develop alternative solutions when necessary.
Provide automated information system / application-specific user support.
Responsible for results.
Work effectively with close oversight.
Maintain contacts with client, but not directly responsible for relationships with department/group clients.
Make realistic commitments to clients; respond quickly to client requests.
Communicate regularly and listen effectively.
Perform work in a manner consistent with organizational values.
Prioritize tasks/duties according to deliverable schedule.
Coordinate problem response with supervisor; effectively document solution.
Participates actively in brainstorming processes.
Understand personal and work unit roles and responsibilities.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
Or a combination of education and training equivalent to an associate degree plus two years of experience administering, documenting, monitoring and modifying software applications.
License/Certification:
Not applicable.
Knowledge Of:
Basic tools and techniques to implement and maintain appropriate application
Fundamentals of the application support environment and operating system
Basic business processes related to supported application
Basic techniques for studying business processes; including analysis of user functional needs
Basic computer system analysis, design, testing, debugging and maintenance techniques and practices
Skill In:
Interpersonal communication to effectively interact with university personnel and public in person and over the telephone
Ability To:
Work cooperatively with technical staff, user departments and end users
Manage personal time and resources
Participate as a member of a cross-departmental project team
Follow quality control procedures
