Job Title:

Coordinator, Center for Adult and Veteran Services 

Physical Location:

 Kent Campus - Kent, OH (Hybrid)

Salary:

 45,000

Basic Function:

Coordinate marketing, programs, and benefits for military connected, parenting, and other adult students. Ensure departmental compliance with federal, state, and University regulations. Reports to Associate Director, Center for Adult and Veteran Services

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Process centralized veteran educational benefits under all chapters of the GI Bill within the Kent State University system as a School Certifying Official.

Coordinate marketing initiatives and social media accounts to target military connected students, parenting students, and other adult learners.

Compile, analyze, and report data benefits programs and beneficiaries.

Conduct informational presentations on the GI Bill and veteran educational benefit processes.

Follow procedures in order to ensure compliance with state and federal standards as they apply to veteran educational benefits.

Stay abreast of policies, procedures and programming related to non-traditional populations to include adult learners and veterans.

Counsel and advise students and parents regarding GI Bill and veterans educational benefits.

Assist with the development and implementation of university policies and procedures related to the processing of veterans educational benefits.

Meet with non-traditional students, both walk in and scheduled meetings.

May assist various departments by participating in events, programs and activities that impact nontraditional students.

May provide ongoing facilitation of consecutive projects.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree. Two years’ experience working with non-traditional adult learners, veterans educational benefits processing, parenting students, marketing, compliance driven environment, or related experience. Occasional evening and weekend hours required. Occasional travel, including out of state required.

License/Certification:

Valid driver’s license.

Knowledge Of:

Personal computer applications *
Basic familiarity of veteran’s educational benefits *

Skill In:

Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, to include presentation skills *
Social media platform management *

Ability To:

Work with diverse populations *
Provide leadership and direction *
Work independently and as part of a team *
Occasionally work nights and weekends *
Occasionally travel, including travel off campus *

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

None. 

Working Schedule:

Monday - Friday; 8am - 5pm or otherwise directed by the department head/supervisor. This position is eligible for hybird work.
