$41,114 - $47,000
Basic Function:
Plan, implement, and evaluate theory- and evidence-based programs and services designed to reduce risky behaviors and improve campus health and safety for Kent State University students. Identify, develop, and facilitate programs to increase awareness and knowledge of student well-being. Reports to the Assistant Director, Kent State of Well-being.

Examples of Duties:
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Assist the Assistant Director with all aspects of the Kent State of Well-being programs, including marketing.
Recruit, train, and supervise student ambassadors, peer educators, student employees, and graduate assistants.
Utilize various strategies to plan, coordinate, and lead presentations, classes, and workshops on various health promotion/wellness topics
Plan, coordinate, and instruct student fitness or well-being classes/programs as needed.
Collaborate and coordinate between departments, as needed, for special events.
Collaborate with key stakeholders on and off campus to develop a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to promote student health.
Actively participate on various campus and/or community committees relevant to the department, division, and university mission.
Assist with budget monitoring and policy development.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in health promotion, health education, public health, community health education, exercise science or related field. Either one year experience assisting in implementing and administering health and wellness programs or one year of experience administering relevant higher education programs and services. Must be able to work nontraditional hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
License/Certification:
Current American Red Cross CPR/AED certification or certification within 90 days of hire.
Knowledge Of:
Public health and prevention frameworks and standards
Student development theories and models
Priority health issues in a college-aged population
Health behavior theories as they apply to risk reduction in a college-aged population
Microsoft Office software applications
Skill In:
Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication *
Critical thinking, decision-making, and resolving complex issues across multiple areas of student services *
Implementing projects and assessing program initiatives
Delivering a variety of educational methods, including presentations, workshops, trainings, individual behavior change sessions, and small group discussion/facilitation *
Ability To:
Provide leadership and direction
Work with little supervision
Collaborate with others and show creativity with recommendations
Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:
Master's degree in health promotion, health education, public health, Ccommunity health education, exercise science, kinesiology, or related field.
Two years of experience working with health promotion, wellness, fitness, or related programming.
Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification or certification eligible.
