Basic Function:

To direct the Brain Health Research Institute (BHRI) in a manner consistent with the University mission. Reports to Vice President for Research and Economic Development.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Plan and direct all BHRI activities through a team of administrative, professional, and classified employees; oversee personnel administration and professional development of staff.

Establish BHRI goals, objectives, and strategies; develop and implement programs and services to accomplish goals, improve the image of the University, thus helping to attract and retain students.

Oversee and coordinate all research activity; maintain an active and productive research program.

Evaluate and approve research proposals, which require use of BHRI facilities and/or resources.

Foster and engage in collaborative research; build productive relationships with internal and external partners.

Serve on university committees; represent BHRI at appropriate university bodies, committees, councils, etc.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree in neuroscience or a related field. Six years of higher education administrative and/or funded research experience including progressively increasing responsible leadership experience. Academic record sufficient to qualify for faculty appointment at the rank of Professor with tenure in the appropriate department.

License/Certification:

Valid Ohio Driver’s license
