Basic Function:

Kent State University Geauga and Twinsburg Academic Center is seeking candidates for a non-tenure track faculty position to teach undergraduate pediatric nursing in an ACEN (Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing) accredited associate degree nursing program at the Twinsburg Academic Center; and also in the CCNE accredited BSN program at the College of Nursing at the Kent State University Geauga campus location in Burton, Ohio.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

The successful candidate will teach in a variety of settings, including lectures, clinicals, skill and simulation labs in pediatric nursing in the ADN and BSN curriculum. Additional duties may include assignments in basic fundamentals of adults and basic medical-surgical nursing care of adults (at the Twinsburg location). A willingness to employ teaching modalities beyond in-person lectures is required, and relevant prior experience will be welcomed.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Current active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio.

Master of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited/approved nursing program.

Two years of nursing experience in pediatric health nursing specialty.

Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:

Master’s degree with a specialty in pediatric health nursing.

Previous undergraduate teaching experience preferred.

Experience in medical-surgical nursing or obstetrics a plus.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

 Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
