Basic Function:

THE COLLEGE OF APPLIED AND TECHNICAL STUDIES AT KENT STATE UNIVERSITY SEEKS A FULL-TIME, 9 MONTH NON-TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITION IN INSURANCE STUDIES OFFERED ONLINE AND AT THE SALEM CAMPUS.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL SERVE AS PROGRAM LEAD FOR THE INSURANCE STUDIES PROGRAM, TEACH UNDERGRADUATE COURSES, PARTICIPATE IN CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT, COLLABORATE ON PROGRAM ENROLLMENT AND OUTREACH, AND NETWORK WITH REGIONAL INDUSTRY REPRESENTATIVES.

Minimum Qualifications:

MASTER'S DEGREE IN A FIELD RELEVANT TO THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY REQUIRED.  A MINIMUM OF FOUR YEARS OF PROGRESSIVELY RESPONSIBLE EXPERIENCE IN THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY REQUIRED.

Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:

DOCTORATE PREFERRED.

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION SUCH AS CPCU IS PREFERRED. 

EXPERIENCE TEACHING INSURANCE RELATED COURSES IN HIGHER EDUCATION PREFERRED. 

EXPERIENCE TEACHING ONLINE/DISTANCE LEARNING STRONGLY PREFERRED.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

 Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
