Basic Function:
Kent State University at Stark seeks applications for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-track position focused primarily on teaching introductory and foundations courses for the BSN program at the Stark Campus, with the opportunity to teach in other areas depending on program need and instructor qualifications.

Advising and mentoring of students to support the recruitment and retention goals for the program.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach in a variety of settings including lectures, clinicals, simulations, and skills labs. A willingness to employ teaching modalities beyond in person lecture is required. Candidates must possess strong communication skills and demonstrate a commitment to cultivating an environment of inclusion, mutual respect, and professionalism in nursing.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Master’s in Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a Master’s in a related field. A Ph. D in nursing or education is a plus. A minimum of two years of clinical experience is required, and previous teaching experience is a plus. Candidates must hold a current, valid, unencumbered nursing license in the State of Ohio, or a current, valid, unencumbered multistate license that authorizes practice in the State of Ohio.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
