KENT STATE UNIVERSITY’S DEPARTMENT OF ANTHROPOLOGY INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR A FULL-TIME, TENURE-TRACK POSITION.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL JOIN A GROWING DEPARTMENT WITH EXCELLENT RESEARCH AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS.

FOR THIS POSITION, WE ARE LOOKING FOR A BIOLOGICAL ANTHROPOLOGIST WHO CAN TEACH COURSES IN PALEONTOLOGY, OSTEOLOGY, AND/OR FORENSIC ANTHROPOLOGY. RESEARCH AREA IS OPEN

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE EXPECTED TO ESTABLISH AN EXTRAMURALLY FUNDED RESEARCH PROGRAM, ENGAGE IN COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH, DIRECT STUDENT RESEARCH, AND EXHIBIT A COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE IN UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE EDUCATION.

Minimum Qualifications:

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE A PH.D. AT THE TIME OF HIRE AND POSTDOCTORAL EXPERIENCE IS DESIRABLE. THIS POSITION IS AVAILABLE AT THE ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR RANK; CANDIDATES AT THE ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR LEVEL ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE A HISTORY OF SUCCESSFUL EXTRAMURAL FUNDING.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
