KENT STATE UNIVERSITY, DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR A TENURE-TRACK POSITION AT THE ASSISTANT PROFESSOR LEVEL BEGINNING FALL 2025.  EXPERIENCED ASSISTANT PROFESSORS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY. WE ARE OPEN TO ALL AREAS OF ACCOUNTING RESEARCH. WE ESPECIALLY ENCOURAGE APPLICATIONS FROM THOSE WITH TEACHING INTERESTS IN ACCOUNTING INFORMATION SYSTEMS, TAXATION, AND/OR AUDITING.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO CLASSROOM TEACHING IN THE FIELDS OF ACCOUNTING, TAXATION, AND/OR AUDITING AT THE GRADUATE AND UNDERGRADUATE LEVEL, ADVISING AND EVALUATING STUDENTS, CONDUCTING AND PUBLISHING RESEARCH IN TOP ACADEMIC JOURNALS, AND OTHER DUTIES NORMALLY ASSOCIATED WITH A TENURE-TRACK POSITION AT AN R1 INSTITUTION OF HIGHER EDUCATION.

Minimum Qualifications:

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE COMPLETED OR NEARLY COMPLETED A DOCTORAL DEGREE IN ACCOUNTING, EXHIBIT POTENTIAL FOR PUBLISHING IN TOP ACADEMIC JOURNALS, AND PROVIDE EVIDENCE OF EFFECTIVE TEACHING.  PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION ARE DESIRABLE.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
