Basic Function:

THE DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY AND BIOCHEMISTRY AT KENT STATE UNIVERSITY-KENT CAMPUS SEEKS TO FILL A TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITION IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY/BIOCHEMISTRY.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES ARE EXPECTED TO ESTABLISH A HIGHLY PRODUCTIVE, EXTRAMURALLY FUNDED, RESEARCH PROGRAM, DIRECT THESES AND DISSERTATIONS, AND EXHIBIT A STRONG COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE IN BOTH UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE TEACHING. WE WELCOME APPLICANTS WHOSE RESEARCH ENHANCES OR BROADENS THE DEPARTMENT’S EXISTING STRENGTHS.

A PH.D. IN CHEMISTRY OR A RELATED FIELD AND AT LEAST ONE YEAR OF POST-DOCTORAL EXPERIENCE.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
