Senior Financial Aid Coordinator, Regional Campus

Basic Function:
To coordinate student financial aid programs for a regional campus; to ensure departmental compliance with federal, state, and University regulations. Serve as primary back-up to the Director in their absence. Reports to designated supervisor.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Triage the needs of our financial aid staff regarding student assistance and financial aid needs. Serve as primary back-up to the Director in their absence.
Coordinate student financial aid programs; ensure a high level of quality service within the department; may coordinate and implement training procedures for department staff; may supervise and coordinate reception services.
Develop reports to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and University policies and guidelines regarding financial aid; review federal and state regulatory updates and determine impact on Institutional compliance issues.
Assist in the development of policies and procedures for institutional programs; and maintain fiscal responsibilities for several state and institutional programs.
May create financial wellness programs for the campus which could include First Year Experience and Student Success Series. Develop presentations for classrooms, hands on workshops and provide one on one exit counseling for loan recipient students.
Review and process all Satisfactory Academic Progress appeals for the campus, Program of Study forms and Maximum Time Frame reviews.
Serve as liaison for faculty and staff.
Counsel and advise students and parents regarding financial aid questions and concerns.
Assist with development and implementation of University policy related to awarding of financial aid.
Conduct informational presentations on the financial aid process.
Compile, analyze, and report data on student aid programs.
Determine eligibility, award packages, and adjust student financial aid packages.
Provide functional guidance of administrative/professional employees and/or direct supervision of support staff on an ongoing basis.
May provide ongoing facilitation of consecutive projects.
Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; two years of experience in student financial aid.
License/Certification:

Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:
Master's degree preferred.
Ellucian Banner experience preferred.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
