Associate Director, University Orientation and Visit Experience

$65, 179 - $70,000
Basic Function:
Provide direction, management, and professional support to ensure a transformative student experience in all recruitment events on an off campus. Assist in the development and implementation of assigned student programs and services that facilitate the recruitment and retention of undergraduate students; to identify prospective students and disseminate information regarding the University. Reports to Director, University Orientation and Visit Experience.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Represent the University to various internal and external constituents (e.g. prospective students, parents, school counselors, alumni, faculty, staff, and administrative personnel); disseminate information regarding the University.
Coordinate publication of Admissions Office recruitment and promotional materials targeting a specific segment of undergraduate students including branding related to University Orientation and Visit Experience.
Provide direct supervision of unclassified employee(s), including professional development and evaluating performance. Provide supervision of graduate assistants, and coordinate the hiring, training and supervision of student leaders/employees.
Provide leadership to various constituent groups relative to recruitment and student activities for undergraduate and graduate students
Provide information and presentations for parents and family members supporting students throughout their college transition.
Provides leadership over and monitors program budgets, may include sponsorship funds.
Develop strategies to ensure program and departmental goals are met.
May assist with initiatives to improve persistence and retention rates for new students.
Develop strategies that utilize the CRM to manage event registrations and communications.
May transport event-related materials for on- and off-campus events.
Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Masters degree in education, student affairs administration, counseling, or a relevant field. A minimum of four years experience in higher education programs to include experience working with and interacting with diverse student populations.
License/Certification:
Knowledge Of:
High school to college educational transition process *
College student development theory and student engagement practices *
College and university organizational structures
Personal computer applications
Undergraduate and graduate recruitment process
Budgeting principles
Slate or related CRM
Skill In:
Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; including public speaking and presentation skills
Assessing the effectiveness of programs
Event planning
Ability To:
Work independently and effectively in collaborative groups and provide initiative/leadership as appropriate *
Work with diverse populations of students
Provide leadership and direction
Manage multiple projects, assignments, and responsibilities *
Maintain confidentiality of student information and data
Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:
Experience in Admissions events and/or recruitment.
Experience with the pre-enrollment lifecycle of students and the creation of efficiencies and best practices.
Experience assisting students in their transition to college.
