Basic Function:
To assist in the development and management of assigned student programs and services for first-year and continuing student success programs. To aid in the retention of these populations typically through leadership development opportunities and trainings, focused, short-term, long-term and/or one-time special events. To work with faculty, staff, and current students to attain these goals. Reports to designated supervisor.

Serve as part of the department team in providing assistance for the coordination and delivery of college transition and retention programs and comprehensive leadership training for student leaders serving the various Student Success programs.
Coordinate and provide academic support services for students; assist in the development and implementation of strategies to ensure support services are available to faculty and staff.
Contribute to the development of the department's leadership development curriculum for student leader trainings and a two credit leadership course.
Develop, plan and implement large-scale, small-scale, and continuing programs and initiatives for first-year and returning students. Conduct program assessment to determine effective strategies.
Present at informational sessions for new students, parents and/or campus partners.
Contribute to the support of academic and college success and retention program development and innovation.
Develop and distribute web and social media content to support program goals and serve students. Identify and incorporate relevant emerging technology for programs and student trainings.
Coordinate the recruitment, selection and/or hiring process of various student populations. Serve as a leadership coach and mentor for student leaders. Analyze student data and trends in higher education as it relates to student success.
May serve as liaison to various constituent groups such as Residence Services, Center for Student Involvement and academic colleges, schools and departments at Kent and regional campuses relative to first-year and undergraduate programs and activities.
Provide direct supervision of graduate assistants and student employees.
Perform related duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience working in student success programs and with underrepresented student populations in a college setting, including administrative, budget, and supervision experience.

Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:
Master’s degree in education, student affairs administration, counseling, student development or other relevant field. Experience working with first-generation students.Asterisk (*) indicates knowledge, skills, abilities which require assessments

Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM or otherwise discussed with your supervisor.
