Basic Function:

 The Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at Kent State University invites applications for a tenure track (TT), Assistant Professor in the Social Media or Digital Marketing area beginning August 20, 2026.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

The position requires the ability to publish research in top journals in Marketing.  With regards to teaching, the department is primarily interested in candidates with the potential to deliver high quality instruction in social media or digital marketing and marketing analytics at the undergraduate level. 

Involvement with Ph.D. student is expected, including participation in the department's Ph.D. mentorship program.  The department faculty has created innovative undergraduate curricula an we seek individuals interested in supporting these programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

 The minimum requirements for this position are a Ph.D. in Marketing earned before the start date, evidence of research productivity, skilled in undergraduate teaching.

Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:

Preference will be given to candidates who can teach Marketing Management in the MBA program.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
