Salary:

 $83,718 - $93,000

Basic Function:

Provides oversight of the national recruitment areas within the Admissions Office to include leadership and strategic management of the university's national recruitment operations and programs. Provides oversight over populations that can include but are not limited to graduate recruitment, transfer and adult recruitment, military recruitment, and those students outside of the Northeast Ohio recruitment market. Reports to Associate Vice President, Enrollment Management, Admissions.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Work directly with the Associate Vice President on goal setting, strategic action plans and yield strategies to include providing advice on short-term and long-term strategic planning activities and financial and human resource allocations.


Develop and implement an annual recruitment plan for undergraduate and graduate student recruitment consistent with the university’s enrollment plan. Primary responsibilities relate to Kent State's national recruitment plan (those students outside of Northeast Ohio).


Model and utilize best practices of inclusion, equity and diversity exemplified in many ways including staff hiring and development, setting priorities, and daily long-term interactions with colleagues at the university and beyond.


Provide direct supervision of unclassified staff, to include admissions counselors, and other staff engaged in outreach and recruitment.


Assess the impact and success of recruitment strategies and tactics through collecting and analyzing various types of data and use data to recommend and implement improvements and changes to existing efforts of recruiting efforts.


Develop, implement, and evaluate the undergraduate travel and territory management plan for the Office of Admissions to support enrollment goals, in coordination with the Director, Regional Recruitment.


Coordinate with communications staff on the development of the annual marketing and communication plan for admissions.


Coordinate with departmental leadership to manage the CRM system used to inform territory management practices and admission reports for the Admissions Office and other academic and student support areas.


Establish and maintain the collaborative exchange of information and data with other Kent State administrative and academic offices and campuses, including sharing recruitment best practices


Coordinate with academic and service units in developing a recruitment plan for each area that is coordinated with the annual recruitment plan of the office.


Supervise and coordinate staff activities; provide training for staff members; distribute projects and assignments to meet department goals and objectives; provide continuous performance feedback to staff members; prepare performance reviews; establish staff development goals.


Resolve and respond to complaints regarding student admission issues; ensure office procedures are in compliance with the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) Guide to Ethical Practice in College Admission.


Serve on university, division, and department committees as appropriate.


Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in higher education or related field. Six years of progressively responsible experience in college admissions. 

License/Certification:

None. 

Knowledge Of:

Integrated systems and software (i.e., CRM software and MS Office Suite) *

Family Education Rights and Privacy Act

Territory management

Transfer and adult student recruitment, graduate student recruitment

Skill In:

Verbal, written and interpersonal communication *
