Job Title:

Coordinator, Student Organization Support

Physical Location:

 Kent Campus - Kent, OH

Salary:

 $41,731 - $45,000 

Basic Function:

Provide students, faculty, and staff with training and professional development in leadership acumen, development of skills, and engagement with univeristy policies to develop a robust community of student organizations at Kent State University. Participate in university events on behalf of the Division of Student Life. Reports to Assistant Director, Student Organization Support or designated supervisor.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Serve as liaison between student organizations and campus administrators; assist in resolving conflicts.

Advise and provide direct developmental assistance to student organizations in programmatic functions; attend official meetings, provide programming advice, and facilitate events sponsored by assigned organizations; ensure compliance with operational procedures, policies, and regulations concerning programming activities.

Ensure compliance of student organizations' operations as they relate to university policies and procedures.

Facilitate program implementation by student organizations through providing expert guidance on best practices, navigating campus procedures, and efficiently processing work.

Support the management and administration of the annual student organization registration process, oversee the verification of membership rosters, and ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.

Plan and execute student organization recruitment events and fairs.

Supervise student employees, including scheduling, training, time approval, and managing day-to-day activities.

Serve as an advocate for the university community by improving and building upon the areas of needed support.

Participate in student focused events on behalf of the Division of Student Life, including admissions recruiting events.

Make presentations to groups of students, sharing important engagement related information to support students' academic and social success.

Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Student Organization Support Center.

Serve on various department, division, and University committees as requested or assigned; may serve as department representative at various University functions.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Two years of experience in a student services area or related field.

License/Certification:

None.

Knowledge Of:

Experience in public speaking and presentations to groups of various sizes.
