Basic Function:
Provide university-wide leadership for all university activities and efforts to build a safe and equitable campus community free from harrassment and discrimination on the basis of sex. Coordinate the university’s compliance efforts regarding Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; the Violence Against Women Act amendments to the Clery Act; Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (including the Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978) and other relevant gender discrimination and harassment laws as applicable to the institution. Reports to the Senior Vice President for Student Life.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Serve as Title IX Coordinator, the designated campus official and subject-matter expert responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the University’s compliance obligations in accordance with Title IX, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), the Clery Act and all other related federal and state laws and regulations.
Develop, implement and monitor the university’s policies regarding sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, gender-based discrimination and retaliation.
Supervise a team of investigators, intake and care coordinator and administrative staff in connection with the intake, administration and investigation of sex-based harassment and discrimination complaints ensuring prompt, fair, and impartial resolution.
Provide ongoing, engaging and effective training, education, consultation and guidance for faculty, staff and students, outlining their rights and obligations under Title IX and other related topics.
Compile and monitor university and department goals, objectives, and strategies; collaborate with other university departments and community partners to develop and implement programs and activities to accomplish goals.
Maintain a comprehensive database to track incidents, assess pattern and areas of risk, and identify the need for targeted prevention and education programming.
Maintain knowledge and education in the field, as well as maintain education in the laws related to these topics. Ensure investigators and other relevant parties receive necessary training and education.
Advise Senior Vice President and University leadership on Title IX and Gender Equity related issues within the University and develop strategies and programs to achieve resolution.
Review and respond to Title IX appeals regarding investigations conducted by investigators.
Issue no contact orders and other applicable interim actions when appropriate
Serve on various department, division, and University committees.
Perform related duties as assigned.

Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Business or related field and a minimum of two years of experience in higher education in the area(s) of legal, student conduct, student life, human resources, law enforcement, civil rights regulatory compliance or similar field which has included experience in Title IX compliance, discrimination, and grievance investigation and resolution.
License/Certification:

Knowledge Of:
Title IX, VAWA, Title VII, FERPA, other applicable state and federal laws which prohibit sexual harassment/sexual misconduct
Effective practices for developing and implementing Title IX compliant protocols and processes for a large, public college or university
Current and emerging Title IX trends, legal obligations, and initiatives
Principles of best practices for conducting investigations, including interview methods and techniques
Skill In:
Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to problem solve, prioritize, analyze, summarize and effectively present information
Utilizing computer technology and programs used for communication, data gathering, and reporting
Ability To:

Supervise the work of staff and recommend appropriate personnel actions
Present and facilitate with an emphasis on education and training for a variety of campus constituents
