KENT STATE UNIVERSITY AT STARK INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR A FULL-TIME, NINE-MONTH, NON TENURE-TRACK POSITION IN BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES BEGINNING FALL 2025.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE TEACHING OF ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY I AND II LECTURE AND LAB. THESE COURSES ARE HEAVILY ENROLLED NURSING SERVICE COURSES AND ARE ALSO AVAILABLE FOR NON-MAJORS.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL JOIN FOUR FULL-TIME FACULTY AND THREE ADJUNCT FACULTY IN BIOLOGY THAT SHARE WELL-EQUIPPED TEACHING LABORATORIES IN THE RELATIVELY NEW SCIENCE AND NURSING BUILDING. FACULTY ARE ALSO PART OF THE LARGER DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES ACROSS THE KENT STATE SYSTEM. THE SCIENCES ON OUR CAMPUS WORK WITH A FULL-TIME LAB COORDINATOR AND A STUDENT LAB ASSISTANT THAT SUPPORT OUR TEACHING.

M.S. IN BIOLOGY OR RELATED SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINEPreferred Qualifications – if applicable:
PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES THAT HAVE PRIOR TEACHING EXPERIENCE AND CAN CONTRIBUTE TO OUR COURSE OFFERINGS IN HUMAN BIOLOGY AS WELL AS CELLULAR AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: PH.D. WITH ONE TO TWO YEARS OF DEMONSTRATED EXCELLENCE IN UNDERGRADUATE TEACHING, INCLUDING EXPERIENCE TEACHING HUMAN ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY. EXPERIENCE DEVISING LAB EXERCISES IS ALSO A PLUS.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
