Assistant Golf Coach

Salary:

$51,000 - $53,000 

Basic Function:

To assist in coaching, recruiting, conditioning, and training the women's golf program. Reports to Head Golf Coach.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Assist in coaching the men's or women’s golf program; utilize coaching and teaching methods to develop student athletes' skills and teamwork.

Assist with the development of team strategy; analyze performance of student-athletes.

Assist in planning and coordinating team competition and practice schedule.

Assist in planning golf camp clinics.

Scout and recruit student-athletes.

Assist in fundraising activities to subsidize athletic program; may assist in marketing and public relations activities to promote the program.

Counsel and advise student-athletes with personal and academic problems.

Assist in managing golf training and learning facility

May supervise students and/or provide functional guidance of support staff or other employees who work on a project or assignment on a temporary or intermittent basis.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree; one year experience as a golf coach or equivalent experience.

License/Certification:

Knowledge Of:

National Collegiate Athletics Association and Mid-American Conference rules and regulations

Skill In:

Training or instructing student athletes; interpersonal communication

Ability To:

Analyze situations and develop solutions
Travel
Work non-traditional hours

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Medium work-Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building and off-campus frequently.
