Job Title:

Assistant to an Executive Officer

Physical Location:

 Kent Campus- Kent, OH

Salary:

 $51,460 - $58,000

Basic Function:

To provide administrative support to an executive or senior officer of the University. Reports to designated Executive Officer.

Additional Basic Function – if applicable:

 Supports the VP of Enrollment Management.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Compile and analyze information; conduct research on various issues as assigned by supervisor; prepare and disseminate reports to various constituencies and government agencies.

May oversee an assigned functional area (e.g., commencement, student and staff grievances, academic appointment process, etc.).

Attend meetings and prepare informational briefs and summaries.

Serve as liaison between supervisor and internal/external constituents.

Draft and revise written communications and documents on behalf of supervisor; review, initiate appropriate action, and respond to incoming communications.

Oversee and supervise operations of the office; assist in monitoring and developing budgets; supervise assigned staff and/or student personnel.

Oversee and coordinate supervisor's calendar; make appropriate travel arrangements; schedule meetings and coordinate agendas.

Serve on department, division, and university committees.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Two years progressively responsible administrative experience.

License/Certification:

Desktop office computer applications *

Written, verbal, and interpersonal communications *

Ability To:

Manage people and projects *

Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:

HIGHER EDUCATION EXPERIENCE (PREFERABLY AT KENT STATE) IS HIGHLY PREFERRED.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.

Working Schedule:

 Monday - Friday 8:00am 0 5:00pm
