Basic Function:

 Kent State University's Department of Mathematical Sciences invites application for a full-time, non-tenure track teaching position.[basic function]

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

In addition to teaching lower-division classes, duties may include recruitment of students for team competitions (including international competitions), assisting with competition preparation, and working with area high schools to increase their involvement in mathematics team competition.  In general, the successful candidate would help to recruit and cultivate students who major in mathematics.

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have a Masters degree in the Mathematical Sciences; demonstrated ability teaching classes in lower division mathematics, particularly in statistics, quantitative reasoning and/or other courses that are part of the STEM track; mathematics major recruitment and/or mathematics competitions.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

 Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
